Did you know that there are approximately 60,000 refugees living right here in Utah and roughly 70% of those are women and children. No matter where you come from, or who you are, every child should have the opportunity to feel happy and confident on their first day of school!

The Utah Refugee Connection is currently working on collecting back packs for their back to school event.  This is an extremely easy way you can help! Even just a pack of crayons helps.

Last year we teamed up with the house system at Meadow and we collected enough supplies for 45 complete backpacks for refugees in Utah!  This year we are dreaming big! We would love to double our contribution!

This year the Utah Refugee Connection needs our back packs by August 1st!  So we need to get busy now!  Below is a list of items needed.  Feel free to drop off any of these items at Meadow every Thursday from now through July 19th.  We will be in the foyer from 9-10 am.

•       2 Two-pocket folders
•       1 Pack Crayons
•       1 Ruler
•       1 Pair children’s scissors
•       1 Pencil box
•       2 Gluesticks
•       5 No. 2 pencils
•       1 Pink eraser
•       1 Bottle liquid glue
•       2 Spiral notebooks
•       Gender-neutral backpack

Thank you for your help and support!
