We hope you are having a fantastic summer!  Back to school sales are in full swing and we want to help our community! Did you know that there are approximately 60,000 refugees living in Utah, and roughly 70% of those are women and children.  Many children don’t even know what refugees are, so we have attached a link to a short, informative video that you can preview and watch with your families.

The Utah Refugee Connection is currently working on collecting back packs for their back to school event and Meadow can help!  Below is a list of items needed for each backpack kit.  Donate as little or as much as you can, but please make sure backpacks are gender neutral.

A representative from the Fidus house will be at the school on Monday July, 31 and Tuesday, August 1 between 10-11am to record your donation. Each donation will receive a house point! You can also drop off items for back pack kits anytime in the large box by the front doors of the school, but we won’t be able to record points for those donations.

We will assemble the kits after we have collected the items.  Any extra items will also be donated.

Items needed for each Elementary Back Pack Kit:

-gender neutral backpack

-2 two pocket folders

-24 pack crayons

-2 highlighters

-child scissors

-pencil box

-2 glue sticks

-5 no. 2 pencils

-Elmer’s glue

-2 spiral notebooks

We are excited for another year at Meadow, thanks so much for your help and donations.
